Our Minor footballers were beaten well by a Peregrines team in the Bogies this morning. Having conceded 2-1 in the first eight minutes it was always going to be a tough lead to overcome.
We never got into our stride and were under pressure in most positions in the first half. Some of our big players did not show up and the basics of football seem to desert us for long periods of this game.
Yet for all Peregrines dominance they could not put the game out of the Barrs reach. For the first 20 minutes of the second half they did not score and the Barrs took over at centre field.
With Eamon Dillon being our main threat in the forwards, we started to get a bit of pattern to our game scoring 1-2 in a five minute period with only 4 points now the different, we should of got two penalties.
It didn’t happen and with two players sent off for very minor offences, Peregrines got the upper hand and scored 1-1 to win the game.
The game is a team sport and everyone has to work hard for one another, unfortunately this didn’t happen today. We’ll pick ourselves up and progress things for next year !!
