Field Day 21th August 2011

A day to remember by all. It was fantastic as the crowds flock to one of the biggest community festivals in Dublin. Great credit goes to all the volunteers who gave up their time for the day.

The highlights was Vincent Kehoe’s great creativity with all the props and games he made which went down great with the children and adults alike. Helping him was Paddy Travers, Terry McKeogh, Harry O’Farrell, Paddy Hanlon and Una Flynn.

Madelene Paget done a great job coordinating the day with Mary Brady, Linda Curley, Janice Smithers, Vera Dixon, Ann Carlon, Treasa Travers, Nail Cuonihan and Paul Dixon were all involved in helping and running stalls.

Paddy Osburn did a great job on the boxing as Gerry Creighton brought the Zoo to Cabra which was a great achievement. The Smithers brothers looked after the darts and highest score as Naill Brady, Kevin Kehoe, Stephen Hyland, Willy Hyland, Ciaran O’Neill, Eoin Sweetman, Peter Fizgearld, Paddy Kearns and Karl Tunner all manned games on the all weather pitch.

Johnne Byrne and Wacker Doyle did great woork on the fish stand and Paul O’Farrell did the wild west shoot out at the C.P.D stall. The Fás workers were again heavily involved in the day. Thanks to Amie on the reception desk and to all the work done by Jackie McKeogh. If we left anyone out we apologize and will include names in follow up article.

A great day to finish the festival which was a another great success!!
