Killmanham Gaol

Great new picture exhibition on 1916 and the tan war on the third floor of the jail. Enjoyed the tour this morning as there was a big crowd there. I learned a new fact, that over 500 women were interned there in 1923.

Pearse McLoughlin, a great friend of Joe Brady, was the first organiser of the restoration of the jail in 1960. Worth a vist over the hoilday period.

AGM 2011

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Our annual general meeting took place on the 15 of December. A good attendance was recorded and it was one of the better AGM’s over many years.

A number of good debates and contributions were put forward from the floor and the club officials. It is good to see that we are just holding our heads above water financially.

This is due to the efforts of many of our members over the year. We also got a run down on the state of our teams and our coaching. A good debate about physio’s and player’s insurance took place. All in all it was a good night for the club.
