The Gooch Cooper and Bernard Broogan held a training session in the Bogies last Monday. Organized by St Declans school the Gooch and Bernard Brogan very kindly gave their time to coah the St Declan boys.

 Organanizer teacher John Caffery was over the moon with the presents of two of Gaelic footballers best players.St Declans have such a great record for players playing for Dublin and winning All Ireland’s. John Caffery, Senan Connell,the three Brogan brothers,Jim Galvin,Barry Cahill, Declan Lally and many more have all wore the Blue of Dublin.

 Not to be out done the St Declans hurlers have allso played for the Dubs. Alan Nolan, Eamon Dillon, Gerry Dodrill,Deark Mc Mullin,Tommy Mc Keown,Shay Boland, Rory Boland all have wore the blue. On this year Senior Hurling championship winning team Naomh Fionnbara had eigth players on the panel who were pass pupils of St Declans.

 John Caffery speeking in the Hearld last Tuesday said that “Dublin winning the All Ireland is always going to give you an extra boost, and now ,people can say that the Gooch played in the Bogies”. John is right on that score but with one idement to that statemen, he never played against the famous Fionnbarrs on their feild of dreams.
