Championship and Match Results
Sunday, April 29th, 2012In a very one sided match in Parnell Park, O’Tooles beat the Barrs by ten points. O’Tooles were a much better team and were on a different level then the Barrs. Andy Cunningham comments were not far off in last weeks Herald. On the positive notes we kept going to the end and got three goals.
Some good personal performances from the Turner brothers, Ger Dodrill and the Troller. Plenty to play for in this group yet with Faughs and Na Fianna to be played. ALot more work to be done.
Our third team got a terrible hiding in the C Championship against a red hot Ballyboden team in the Bogies. We simply did not turn up for the game. Again there is plenty of opportunity in this group with three more matches.
Under 15 footballers had good win today against Cu Cullen. Down by ten points at have time they won by four. Our under sixteens footballers reached the last four of the U16 championship with a win against O’Dwyers on Saturday. Our minor footballers left it late against Skerry Harps losing by two points again having been ten points down at half time.

Also we would like to thank club members who gave their time. Good to see Roy Sheenhan Irish International and Mick Dowling giving their time to support such local events.

Wednesday, April 25th, 2012The Senior A hurling Championship match is off to night due to the weather. It is provisionally book for Sunday at 2-15 in Parnell Park.
Good article in Naill Scully colum in last nights evening Herald. In a interview with Andy Cunningham of O’Tooles it gives a very balance view of this years hurling championship.
Talking about Fionnbarr chances Andy could be right that our senor hurlers are not up to that level yet.
Maybe a few more years in division two and bit more hard work will get us up the standers of O Tooles,Faughs,Ciarans,Ballyboden,Lucan Sarfeild,Crumlin and St Pats of Palmerstown.
We will probably put up a good display against last year finalist O’Tooles but with a number of bad injuries to some of our key players O Tooles are certain favorates and should prevaile.
Hurling Week- Parnell Park-Pearse Park- Bogies
Tuesday, April 24th, 2012
All roads lead to Parnell Park on Wednesday night as the senior hurlers take on O’Tooles in the Senior A championship.O’Tooles beaten finalist last year go into the game as favorites which will suit the Barrs. If we get the performance it will be a big pulse on the road to the quarter finals. All support well come as this is our first A championship since 2007.
On Sunday our other two adult hurling teams take on Ballyboden in the Bogies and Crumlin out in Pearse Park. Two good matches to look forward to as both teams are shaping up well. A bit of luck and we could all reach the second round in a good position.
