Under 13 team on a trip to Wicklow 1967
Mixed results at the weekend for hurling and Football. Our senior team went down to Whitehall by six points in a disappointing turn out from the team. Some good individual preformaces on the day but not enough to win. The gain made on Wednesday was lost by losing this match.
Our second hurling team played Clontarf on Sunday morning. Should of got a result by all accounts. A closed mouth catches no flies. Manger putting in the work some players still not putting in the effort.
Third team had a good win against St Judes in the Bogie’s on Sunday afternoon. Good game from both sides which could of went either way. A bit more hunger from the Barrs secured the win to keep them on top of the table with two matches left.
Our footballers played in the Bogies Sunday afterdinner against Man of War in a cup game. They won the game in a good game from both sides.
Sunday morning the club hosted Oranmor club from Galway. They borough over forty children and twenty adult members to play a under eights match and a under 10 match. They went back to the club house for food and then on to Croke park to the Leinster final. Thanks to Vincent Kehoe and Madelene Paget our club secretary for looking after them.
On Saturday the camogie team from St Kevins of Louth left for home after three days stay in our area for the All Ireland camogie Faille. The club want to thank the people who put up players and mentors over the three days. The club also want to thank Emma and Thomas for all their work over the few days. The Comogie president payed a visit to the Bogie’s on Thursday and the club want to thank Paddy Martin for facilitating this event.
Galway hurlers proved the proverb of were there is a will there is a way right in their defeat of Killkenny in Sunday Leinster final.
Dublin championship ended in Clare in a disapoiting result for players and managers. Need to keep working and keep the progress going. Minors had a great win against Wexfrod in Leinster final. Congratulation to Shay Boland and the players on this results. It is also worth noting the win of the hurlers of St Bridget’s in the All Ireland Faile final. A great achievement in both codes from our near neighbours.
