Another year to wait or will it be another 17 years till Sam comes back to Dublin City. First lets thank the management and players for their effort all year after all they are only amature players and the pressure of playing for Dublin is probably as big as a player playing professional football for Manchester United.
Were did it go wrong yesterday ? Was it the constant pressure over the last three years that took its toll. Was it the lack of hunger of some of the players who through their social networking didn’t work hard enough.Or was it the fate of of Dublin that on the day they needed a performance it just wasn’t there.
Were the manger and selectors slow in not moving the coner backs after 10 minutes when it was obvious that Mayo were doing the damage in those ares. Centre field again was a problem. Playing three centre field men to acomidate them is not good for the balance of the team.
You either play Darra Mc Auly with Dennis Bastic or Eamon Fennell but it has been shown that playing the three of them has not worked. Was the leaving of Mc Memum on the line until the last fifteen minutes a wrong choice to make.
Maybe it was a combination off all things mention that lost the game for Dublin. When you look back over this match over the next week or so you will say to your self time and time again how did we loose it. That’s football ,that’s fate.Deflated
