The Unsung Heros

The unsung heros,

Work behind the scene.

Some work alone,

Some as a team.

There’s strips to be washed,

Folded and pressed,

So the kids are turned out,

Smartly dressed.

There’s ref’s and linesmen,

Other sweep the floors,

Pulling pints at the bar,

Or manning the doors.

Events are organised all year round,

Buy tickets to see the Dubs,

Play on hallow ground.

The bus driver brings everyone near and far,

Then gets home for last drinks at the bar.

And its all for the children,

From Cabra East and West,

With their jerseys of blue,

And Naomh Fionnbarra crest.

There’s teams of 15, Subs make it more,

As the parents cheer on when the goals they do score,

And if they score 10, or big fat zeros,

They know they have a great team behind them,

Their unsung heros.
