Weekend Review 3rd March

The weather was again a big winner over the weekend with pitches in John Paul Park being called off, however most games did still go ahead. On Saturday morning both our U 8s and U9s traveled out to Trinity Gaels for their Go Game football matches, with the U9s recording a great win. Our U10s had a good win out in Naomh Olaf in Sandyford and our U12s won against Round Towers in Clondalkin. Our U14 hurlers were unlucky to loose out to Kilmacud Crokes in Stillorgan.

On Sunday the action began with our U15 Camogie girls loosing out to Brigids in Blanchardstown. The main game of the weekend was our senior hurlers game with neighbours Erins Isle. Having lost out to Isles in last years game, our lads were anxious to get a win. We started the game well and led 0-10 to 0-1 at halftime. It always looked like a goal would kill the game as a contest and when Eamon Dillon found the net 10 mins into the 2nd half, the game was all but over. We went on to win by 9, 1-14 to 1-5.

Our junior 5 hurlers began their league campaign with a convincing win over St Vincents 2-7 to 0-5 and our junior 7s lost out to Realt Dearg 2-12 to 2-10. Our minor footballers were beaten in a bizarre game in Judes. Despite leading by 14 points with 10 mins remaining, we were stunned by an amazing comeback from the home team to loose out by a single point. In the final game of the weekend our U15 hurlers recorded a fantastic 8  point victory away to Naomh Mearnog in division 1.
