We are always seeking old photographs or information about the club especially in the early years. Also we are seeking pictures or articles on Cabra over the years for our folklore and history section.

Weekend Matches

The weather is blooming at the moment so we are all anticipating the games this weekend. Our senior footballers are playing Skerries Harps in the Bogies on Sunday morning at 10-30.

Our second adult team are playing our near neighbours Plunketts /E.R in the Bogies at 12 o’clock. Our third adult team are playing Scoil ui Chonall in the Bogies at 3 0′clock. The minor hurlers are playing Sylvester in the Bogies on Sunday.

The camogie teams are training hard and their leagues will be starting soon. Congratulations to Paddy Martin and Mick Ward who are involved with running the Dublin Under 14 camogie team.

Our fifteen juvenile teams are all playing this weekend, so get out of the house and give a hand in this great weather.

We wish Terry Conroy, the former Irish International and FA cup winner with Stoke City, a speedy recovery from his recent illness. Terry comes from Cabra and lived on Faussagh Road.

Croke Park with the Barrs

The clubs under 11 and under 12′s are playing in Croke Park on Sunday 20th at the interval of the Dublin vs Mayo match. It is a great occasion for the children, their parents and our club.

The club committee would like to thank the staff at Croke park and the president Christy Cooney for their assistance.

Listening to the RTÉ John Murray show from New York the other morning he mentioned he was going to the Paul Hurley Bar and Restaurant near central Park for his breakfast.

This is the same Paul Hurley who looked after our minor team so well in New York in 2007. If you’re in New York drop into his restaurant and bar as you be well looked after as John Murray found out.

You will allso find on the wall of the bar a Barrs jersey which the club presented to him in 2007.

The club committee and club members send their deepest sympathy to Seamus, Barney, Robert and Bernie McCarthy on the death of their mother of Bannow Road. Mrs McCarty is the last of the old neighbours of that section of the road .Ar deis de go raibh a anim. Mrs McCarty is going to Cabra west chruch for 10am mass tomorrow.

Feile na Gaelige i gCabrach 2011 1U-25U Marta

The Faile na Gaelige i gCabrach started last week. It is a months long worth of activities where our language is used and promoted in the Cabra area.

There is a program of events for each day which can be picked up from the clubhouse reception. Tir gan Teanga – Tir gan Anam. Faile na Gaeilge i gCabrach is supported by Naomh Fionnbarra GAA, Cabra Community Development Project, Dublin City Council, Gaelscoil Bharra and Colaiste Mhuire.
