u12's

On Sathurday our U12,13 and U14′s won their matches. Our U15′s were beaten in a great game against Lucan Sarsfields.

Our Minors drew in the hurling championship with Crumlin having led by seven points with ten minutes left, they were lucky to hang on.

Our U16′s were beaten by a very good Liffey Gaels team in the semi final of the league while our Junior football team were beaten by Na Fianna in their last match of the league. However the team finished in the top four of the league which sets them up nicely to drive on next year and win promotion.

Retirement of Micheal Ó Muircheartaigh

Friday, September 17th, 2010

The Barrs of Cabra wish Micheal Ó Muircheartaigh all the best on his retirement. The Ó Muircheartaigh moment that our club members have been talking about over the last two days is the match between Tipparary and Galway.

Pat Fox got the ball and Joe Rabbit went in chase of him. Micheal’s take on this was,

“You never seen a Rabbit chase a Fox, well here in Croke Park its happening before my eyes.”

Go raibh milie maith agat o na phobal as Cabrach Baile Ath Claith.

We also want to thank Micheal on his support for the club in the promotion of our native languish in th Cabra area through the Gaelschoil Bharra which the club founded. ‘Slainte agus Saol chugat.’
