Anniversary Night

Saturday, July 25th, 2015

As part of the Club’s 70th Anniversary we are holding a special night for all who were part of the Club in the 1980′s and 1990′s. This includes players, mentors, supporters, jersey washers and everyone else. This was a special time in the Club’s history and we want to remember everyone who played their part.

The night takes place in the Clubhouse on Friday 31st July at 8.30pm and promises to be a great night.

70th Anniversary meeting

Friday, May 15th, 2015

On Monday night next at 8.30 there is a meeting by Mick Brown and the committee running the 1960 – 70 period night.

In conjunction with that meeting we are inviting all members past and present to this meeting to contribute with ideas and help for the festival week and the rest of the years activities for the 70 year celebration. We are inviting along the bar staff and bar committee to this meeting to help coordinate the next few months.

The first night period from 1940 – 50 went very well and we can build on this for the next few periods. In the photos below are photographs of minor teams from the 60s – 70s with their mentors and photos of memorabilia which we have got for the year. All are reasonable price and it is important that members buy into getting these items. All our teams should get the badges. They can be got from Terry Mc Keogh.

Mickey Harte Pays the Barrs a visit

Tuesday, October 9th, 2012

The club won the Eircom competition and  received a training session from Micky Harte as the winners. He arrived in the Bogie’s in late September on a sunny Saturday morning.

Our under 8s,9s, and 10s were playing and photos with all the teams were the order of the day. Mickey took a training session with our under 15 and minor footballers which was enjoyed by all our players. Mickey went down to the clubhouse and met young and old with plenty of photos been taking.

We really enjoyed the company of one of the best managers in Gaelic games.

Win a training session with Colm Cooper

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012

Win a training session with Colm Cooper

There is a great competition running at the moment which gives clubs the chance to win a training session with Colm ‘Gooch’ Cooper of Kerry. We’d be delighted if he could grace the Bogies with his skills.

We would therefore ask our club members to enter the competition on eircom’s GAA page and give the club to host the Gooch.

The photograph is of the two families and Cllr Seamus McGratten representing Naomh Fionnbarra GAA Club.
