Wednesday, May 26th, 20102nd Annual Golf Outing
Monday, May 17th, 2010The clubs annual golf outing classic and fundraiser was held in May for the Donal Massey memorial cup. This was the second year of the running of this event. The committee of Dave Farrell, John Smithers (jn), Shay Cunanhan, Karl O Hara, Ciaran Curley ran a great day and social function that night in the club house.
20 teams took part in the Golf tournament out in Royal Tara golf club in Co Meath with a number of local clubs taking part. St Bridget’s, St Oliver Plunketts / Eoghan Rudha, St Monica’s, all put teams into the classic.
A very competitive competition took place which was run to a very high stander by the organizers. St Oliver Plunketts won the competition and the Donal Massey cup was presented by club coach and Dublin centre field man Eamon Fennell.
A great social was held with over 150 people dancing the night away. A special thanks to the women who ran the raffle on the night which was very successful. The club committee wants to thank all the sponsors and all the people who worked voluntary on the day for the club.
The sponsors were Ethersons Butchers, Brandon O Carroll, John Fox, Club Cabs, Kenilworth Motors, Bar Staff Club, Cabra Credit Union, Coca Cola, Custom Crew, Thomas Synnott, Christ Singh, Pat Meagher, and Impact Trade Union.

Club Easter Draw
Saturday, May 1st, 2010Since January the club has run a number of socials and fundraisers which help to keep the club going. In April there was the club Easter draw with 400 tickets sold.
Martin Costello, Terry Mc Keogh John Byrne, Nicky Kehoe and Jackie Mc Keogh, were all involved in the work on this raffle.

On a cold wet day we made the trip to Kilkenny to play Black and Whites on their own ground. The pitch was in the middle of the country and a loud convoy of cars and buses descended on the quiet Kilkenny countryside. A huge crowd from Cabra packed the small ground but it was soon clear that this wasn’t to be our day.
The home team set out their stall early on with points from Paul Murphy (three), Tom Moloney, Peter Cleere (two) and Niall Kennedy inside the opening quarter. Midfielder Gerry Dodrill scored a brace in reply for us, but we were dealt a crushing blow in the 19th. minute when Stephen Costello was issued with a straight red card.
Playing with the strong breeze, Black & Whites continued to tack on the scores and took a 1-11 to 0-2 lead into the break thanks to Tommy Farrell’s 27th. minute goal.
We responded brilliantly with three unanswered points on the restart before Niall Paget’s shot ended up in the net. With nine minutes to go, we had cut the margin down to 2-14 to 1-7, but the home side then put the issue beyond doubt thanks to late points from Paul Murphy as they secured their second Leinster junior title in seven years.
Our fantastic campaign was over for 2009 but the dream lives on.
