Picture of Finnbarrs school team 63 years ago.

Coming into the dark nights again with most of our adult and Junvinle teams finished playing. There a number of compitiion still up and running.

Our under 21 hurlers are playing Sathurday against Naomh Barrog in the B championship in Barrrog. We won this compitison last year and it is a wonder we were not in A championship this year. Our under 21 footballers play Fingal Ravens away the following week. Our Minor footbalers and hurlers are still in with a chances to quilifey in both hurling and football championship. Bad lost the weekend against O Tooles.

Our Divison 6 football team were beaten in their last match against the division winners St Peragrine. Good game from the barrs.Congraulations to Peragrents. Thanks to Keith Russell and Brian Carr for taking over the team for the day. Two young mangers to watch out for in the year to come.

Good win for Ballymun in the sinor championship. They have been working very hard over the last few years. Again it is deication and work rate that wins these A championship finals and leagues.

Good interview from Paul Curran on the phisical training. Good to see a team with most of there own players playing which is not a bad thing as Ciaran Whelan metion in his artical in to nights paper for Dublin club football.   Still you have to admire Kilmacude in a lot of ways the progress in both hurling and football.

Big christmas Draw coming up alot of members have not weigh in yet to support their club. Bullshite walks and money talks is a old saying a yanky friend of mine use to say. Hope all our familys and friends in New York are ok after the storm.

e are ok.

Mickey Harte Pays the Barrs a visit

Tuesday, October 9th, 2012

The club won the Eircom competition and  received a training session from Micky Harte as the winners. He arrived in the Bogie’s in late September on a sunny Saturday morning.

Our under 8s,9s, and 10s were playing and photos with all the teams were the order of the day. Mickey took a training session with our under 15 and minor footballers which was enjoyed by all our players. Mickey went down to the clubhouse and met young and old with plenty of photos been taking.

We really enjoyed the company of one of the best managers in Gaelic games.

Battles Victories and Losses

Monday, October 8th, 2012

Picture of Gerry Kehoe (sn) Bogie’s 1979

The last two weeks has been hectic for the club .We had plenty of battles were we lost some and won others. Two weeks ago we were beaten in the senior hurling A championship relegation play off by St Judes in the Bogie’s by four points. Judes were sharper on the day even though we came back strong in the end. The news that no team were getting relegated a few days later brighten every body up in the club. Junior hurlers were hammer in the Bogie’s that  week by a very good Cuala side.

This weekend the 7th of October has been a mixed bag of victories and defeats. Our under 14 hurlers won out in Round Towers of Clondalkin and are only one match off from winning the league. Our under 15 having beaten Satanta are in the same boat for their  league. Both teams play in Division two next year. Our under 16s started there  A hurling championship campaign onSaturday with a trip to Kilmacude. They were beaten by eight points. Our minors had a good win against O Toole’s in the hurling championship.

Our Intermeadth team said good by to their promotion hopes when they were beaten very comfortably by Clann Na Gael on Saturday. On Sunday in the match of the weekend our second adult footbal team lost the C championship final by eight points to a much stronger Ballyboden team. A few decisions and a number of injuries didn’t help the teams performance. Sunday afternoon in the Bogies saw our third hurling team go out of contention for promotion by losing by a point ot Faughs.

The club congratulates Lloyd Lynch on winning a gold medal in the kick boxing  World championships on Sunday.

Senior Championship A playoff Bogies

Friday, September 28th, 2012

                                                                 Under 10s in Belfast

All roads lead to the Bogie’s at 5- 30 tomorrow as the senior hurlers play St Judes in the playoff to stay in the A championship next year. The Barrs should be at full strength and hopefully are in good form to win. St Judes are a  outfit and it should be a good game. All club supporters should be there shouting on the lads. The Senior camogie team have an important match on Sunday in the Boigie’s.

Mickey Harte with tiny Tots players and managers all weather pitch 23 Sept

Great win for Dublin minors to day. Worked hard and were on top all the way through. Donegal deserve to win to day and gave great exhibition of defences and attacking football. Hard luck to Mayo as they stayed in match for a long time and showed plenty of steel.

On the club front great crowd in Bogie’s Saturday and Sunday. Our under 8s,9s,10s played at 10 o’clock. Mickey Harte trained the under 15s and minors until 12.

Aternoon  the under 16s were beaten by Ballyboden in the championship. They put in a great second half and casme very strong at the end. The under 12s had two points to spare out in Swords while our under 14 hurlers were beaten in Barrog by two points.

On Sunday morning Cuala beat our second hurling team well in the Bogie’s and our under 15s went down by a few points against St Bridget’s in extra time in the quarter final of the football championship. The third teams match was call of because of the pitch.
