Dubs Losses Under 21 crown

Thursday, June 7th, 2012

The under 21 hurlers lost their Leinster crown against a more hungrier Laoise. When you look at the circumstances over the last week it was probably not surprising that Laoise would cause a surprise.

Having been badly beaten in the senior championship by the Dubs there was always going to be a reply from this proud hurling county. Trow in a bit of cockiness from the Dublin players and the up set was always on the cards.

Problem now is a number of the senior squad will not be getting games they need at this level to make a break through to the senior panel. Good problem to have in some ways for Anto Daly as they will have to try harder in challenge matches or club games.

Hurling is a great game to bring you back to earth. Unless you play for Killkenny.

A great servant to the club over the years hopefully he will be back to ware the blue of the Barrs in the future.

Dublin A Good Week End

Tuesday, June 5th, 2012

Dublin Hurlers and footballers got off to a good start on the holiday weekend with two good performances. The hurlers were in good form against Laoise as Liam Rush had a very good game on the square on Saturday.

Dublin need scoring forwards and if they presit with him there he could be the answer. Changing him all over the pitch does not help him or Dublin. He is big and strong and a good eye for the ball.

St Pats  made a big mistake in last years senior B final by not putting him in full forward. Troller did not get a run but his day will come and he will get his chance.

Great compititsion there for places and it is great to see him in the final panel fighting for a place. Dublin should be confidant against Killkenny in the Leinster semi fianl. It wil be a great match.

The footballers showed therir strenth and power against a well prepared Louth team. Just need to keep our feet on the ground. Great crowd at Croke Park considering all the events and weather which was on the weekend week end in the city.
