Weekend Games
Monday, July 26th, 2010There were four Hurling games played which started in the Bogies on Thursday night with a Junior match against the Civil Service. The match had a good intensity in it but the Civil Service were much sharper in front of goal and that was the difference.
The Senior Hurlers travelled out to Naomh Mearnóg with great hopes of going into the quarter final of the championship but fell very flat on the night to a more hungry Mearnóg team who played well as a unit. The second Junior hurling team played very well out in St Judes and only lost by three points. (more…)

Santa Marie Day Care Centre – Cabra West
Wednesday, July 21st, 2010The word is out in the area that the Santa Marie Day Care Centre will not get funding after September due to cut backs. Hopefully this is not true as the centre has been a great asset to our commuity over the years.
Even though it’s not part of our club, it is an integral part of our community which we support fully and would encourage our members to likewise. We will get the full story in the few days and will keep you posted on what happens.
Senior Camogie Friendly Match
Tuesday, July 20th, 2010On Sunday morning, the 18th of July, the Senior Camogie team travelled out to Trinity Gaels grounds for a friendly match. It was a great game and the club would like to thank Trinity Gaels for the match.
The game was well contested with the Barrs wining by 4-12 to 2-10. There were good performances from Sara O’Leary, Calli Mooney, Jade Ward and Jessica McKeogh. Siobhan Kehoe hit most of the Barrs scores with a brilliant display.
As the championship is only a few weeks away, hopefully the team can put the extra work into the training. They could go along way in the championship if they put a real effort in, so come girls lets so it for the Barrs!!

Naomh Fionnbarra 0-09 vs Clontarf 1-08
On a windy Friday night in the Bogies, Clontarf overcame table toppers Finbars in a closely fought league match. It took the Barrs a long time to settle as the oppsition went in at half time with a three point lead.
The second half belonged to the Barrs as they drew level with ten minutes left. Clontarf made a quick break and got the games only goal and follow up to go four points ahead with three minutes left. The Barrs reduced the lead to two points and nearly got a goal in the last minute.
