Minor Hurling Report

Tuesday, July 6th, 2010

As the first rain of June fell on the Boggies Eddie Walker (the O’Tooles Ref) started the game late on a very warm night in Cabra. This Minor GAA Hurling game against St Kevins was the last league match of the season with St Kevins unbeaten and the Barrs only three points behind them.

Having lost the last three encounters over the last three years to St Kevins, the Barrs were out to break this loosing run. In a fast open game that was well refereed, the Barrs dominated from start to finish with a great display of strength, skill and determination.

Man of the match performance by Daniel Cummins provided the foundation for the Barrs to win by 5-10 to 1-13. Even though they lost St Kevins qualified for the league final and we wish them all the best in that match.

Dublin Minors Loose out in Final

Monday, July 5th, 2010

Dublin lost out in the Minor Hurling final to Kilkenny at the weekend. The Irish Times  highlighted matters could have been worse for Dublin had it not been for two saves by one of our own, goalkeeper Eamon Dillon. He saved from John Power, and he also did well to stop a shot from Aylward in the second half.

You can read the full match report on The Irish Times.
